Mutant Sounds Records is proud to present Lvke Jvarez "All's Fair in the Game of Love of Money" CD - Mutant Sounds Records (2025)
Based out of Houston Texas, Lvke Jvarez, is the brainchild of singer/songwriter Lucas Juarez.
The year was 2020, and Lucas was stepping back onto the stage after a long hiatus with his former group the Business Machines. They were an established and seasoned hard rock/post punk band. However, the COVID pandemic stalled all momentum the group was building and Lucas found himself isolated as the world went on lockdown. It seemed another hiatus would be imminent.
With the pandemic lockdown in place, Lucas began working on new material, making modest recordings of demo material. With no real access to his band mates, he decided to embrace the electronic sounds of 808s and other EDM beats and loops rather than rock/punk arrangements with realistic drum sounds. Longing for Friday nights at Houston's iconic goth dance club "Numbers", he began writing music that could take him back to those pre-pandemic nights.
Combining elements of hard rock, 80s new wave and post punk, he created his first track, never intending on it to be performed live. Slowly Lucas began to re-invent himself as a solo artist, writing and producing a new batch of songs that would end up being performed live and released on Mutant Sounds Records.
With no band name to perform under he decided to brand the project using his name...Lvke Jvarez.
Today, Lvke Jvarez consists of Lucas Juarez on guitar and lead vocals and his brother and ex-band mate Matthew Juarez (Dig Dug) on bass and backing vocals. Combining their 20+ years of experience, the two brothers work seamlessly together on the stage and in the studio, cranking out their unique interpretation of the new wave, darkwave, and goth rock genre.
Lvke Jvarez "All's Fair in the Game of Love of Money" (MS-08) is follow up to his "Love/Hate" release from 2022. CD version is available now for purchase, with the vinyl version hoping to be released later in 2025.
